Character Statement from (anonymous)

"Je'Saun Johnson is many things: a leader, an ambassador, an activist for change. I've had the honor of watching him mature since the 5th grade, and this school year was fortunate to reconnect with him in our twice-weekly advisory class. Je'Saun has been a leader in many ways in his academic career: he's held numerous study government positions as a middle schooler and freshman in high school, and he visualizes and facilitates projects for a variety of student organizations such as Black Student Union and Student Council. Je'Saun is motivated by the energy of others who share his passion and he creates opportunities for those around him to feel more empowered to be the change and help him lead. He's an ambassador for our school and students by nature; Je'Saun has the innate ability to represent the many faces of our school and community by serving as a student representative to our school board. Never daunted by big tasks, Je'Saun handles his role with admirable maturity, poise and patience. The character trait that I admire most about Je'Saun is his ability to bring about change. He is so humble about his aspirations to be a leader someday- though everyone agrees that his strong sense of equity for all, his love of our community, his talents, and his tolerance are all hallmarks of someone who acts to bring about positive change for the sake of family, friends, and neighbors in Charlottesville. Je’Saun sees something that needs to be addressed and brings the cause to light by hosting community forums and leading conversations among students and adults. I am so honored to attest to his character, and cannot recommend someone more deserving of recognition than Je’Saun Johnson."

Let's give it up for Je'Saun!
