Teri Strother

TERI STROTHER

 

Empowering leaders through effective communications, programs, and embodiment practices

 

 

Teri is passionate about creating a better world through community-based engagement, empowerment, and storytelling. She taught reading and writing to middle school students for nearly ten years before founding Better World Betty in 2008, a local organization dedicated to providing fast, fun, and friendly eco-living tips. She created and led the first green business challenge in Central Virginia, the Charlottesville Area Better Business Challenge, which has helped over 150 businesses increase their efficiency and sustainability measures. Teri worked as Communications Manager at the Rivanna Water and Sewer & Solid Waste Authority before joining the Community Climate Collaborative in September 2017. She graduated with an English degree with a teaching emphasis from the University of Utah. Her love of the Rocky Mountains has expanded to the trees of Appalachia.

 

She has spoken to a variety of local and national audiences including:

  • UVA Darden School of Business

  • Virginia Environmental Excellence Conference

  • League of Women Voters

  • Secondary and Higher Education Classrooms  

  • JMRL Library System
