LNE at Rivanna RiverFest

Note: This event registration is for youth kayaking, activities, and games. For the times of 10AM-4PM. 

Although Rivanna River Fest is an all day and evening event, LNE's participation only involves a kayaking trip, activities, and games during the stated time. This is what you are registering for. LNE will provide transportation if needed (to and from), and we will be ending this portion of our day at 4PM.  You will be expected to make other arrangements to stay longer.  See full RivannaFest schedule below.

Activities

• Learn about invasive plants
• Play interactive games and win prizes
• Meet all kinds of wildlife, fish, and bugs that live in and around the river
• Learn about the history of the Monacan Indian Nation and watch a traditional basket weaving demonstration
• Try fly fishing
• Take home your own potted plant
• Tube down the Rivanna River
• Learn about the effects of human activity on water quality
• Participate in a nature scavenger hunt
• Dress up as butterflies, “pollinate” flowers and build fairy houses

Special Performances

• 4:00 PM – Live performance by Hometown Choir
• Presentations by Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary
